I hate those spoiled brats whose parents buy them everything in the world without actually parenting them. I've seen them over the years and they just become greedy and materialistic without learning how to say "thank you". Sometimes they even start bragging, even towards adults, about how they're so much better because they got the coolest (yet most useless) stuff. I've been around my fair share of them, and by the time they reach high school, they're so fucking snooty and spoiled it's pathetic.

Surely a steady dose of bullying throughout highschool straightens them out.

Kids in general are little brats.

I don't see how people can be proud of owning things. I can see being proud of what you did to earn the money to buy the things, but merely being proud of your possessions makes no sense to me (unless, of course, you made them or repaired and fixed them up or something).

lol nope. Once they get to high school, they're encouraged to act whiny and "deprived" because they're being singled out.

Just a few more years and Generation Y starts churning out kids. Hopefully we'll do a little better.

Generation Y has its own victim complex blaming Gen X and the baby boomers for ruining everything. They're just the next phase in finding another scapegoat.

It's annoying to watch Jenga and Homor agree with each other over it, honestly.

This goes all the way back to the ancient Greeks, who thought that they were the "Iron Men" descended from the "Bronze Men" going all the way back to the "Golden Men" who were perfect and loved by the gods. During the Renaissance, this was how the educated Mediterraneans felt about themselves with respect to the Romans and those same ancient Greeks.

You can also see some of it in Mesopotamian religions regarding expulsion from Paradise. Because of this, it used to be a popular theme in mythology influenced literature, like how everything is medieval quality in Lord of the Rings despite history progressing centuries since the prologue.

This isn't about kids getting worse. It's about kids who are genuine brats that stand out from the other kids.

I work at a community center and see 140 different kids a day. They're actually getting smarter and are becoming mature (in good and bad ways) at earlier ages thanks to the access they have to all the information and technology these days.

However, some of them are still just 100% bitch brats that make me wish people would stop having unprotected sex and being selfish enough to think they need to have their own DNA running around.
