Got fired Friday. Decompressed the stress Saturday. Revised and updated my resumes on Monday, spoke to headhunters Tuesday.

Tuesday night through Thursday night I work coding my website because the headhunters are waiting for it before they start passing my resumes around.

Thursday night, just before I go to bed, the computer shuts down. On it's own. I had left it on so that I could get up today and get started on the site again ASAP. I get up to check it, and it won't come back on. Panic sets in. I go to sleep and wake up with a plan to extract the hard drive and hook it up to my laptop.

Before heading off to the local electronics and parts store, I give the computer another shot. It boots up, so I copy the files to an external drive and hook the drive to my laptop. Most of the site is done, or as close to it as can be for a Monday deadline, but for a while I was really having an extended heart attack.

My personal lesson learned? My web hosting provider offers WebDAV. For mission critical stuff I'm going to use it. Oh yeah, and get a new computer when I have some scratch together. At least I've got a laptop handy.
