I hate to say it, but imageboards are changing the whole world. People freely say what they want, post what they want, tell each other how to steal, scam, and bullshit, and since it's all anonymous, no one gets caught (outside of CP and planning shooting sprees).

Thanks to imageboards, Americans finally have a right to free speech. The world has a right to free speech.

I'm no "ANON IS LEGION LOLOL" faggot, but it seems to me that as more and more newfags pour into boards around the internet, there is more and more of a chance to actually have their voices heard. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but I would not be surprised to see imageboards changing society in the next 20 years. Think about it. Every day memes get more and more into the public eye: Rickrolling, caturday, Rebecca Black.

Computers are getting smaller and faster (I know, crazy, right?) In the middle east right now, whole demonstrations are organized through sites like Twitter, demonstrations large enough to take down governments.

The best part is that the governments of the world move...well, slowly. If 789chan was blocked by the US government for some reason, three more imageboards would spring up in its place.

tl;dr-you're helping to change the world by using an imageboard.

I don't know about that. I can post on an imageboard without making an account, I don't have to put in a name, and when I do it's one that has no connection to me.

I can be banned from Facebook if I constantly type "gay nigger fuck shit cunt" or some other poetry on my status. Go on /b/ and do it all day long if you like, and worst case scenario someone will just tell you to shut up.

as for that, people tell each other to shut up when they can't think of anything clever...

you know what really changes the world is people who speak out about what they see and think, instead of agreeing with everything and 'going with the flow'

it's you & me who dare to talk about 'the man behind the curtain' and everything that's screwed up in the Emerald City...

Counterpoint, knowing our innermost thoughts makes us easier to control. Have you ever seen a link posted on these boards that is original reporting? Everything we see is controlled, now the news can be reactive, if people are pissed on the chans about a particular issue give it some spin and the collective unconscious of the world is pacified.
