Okay, the movie actually sucked. But the tv series is amazing. THe animation quality is actually good, the voice acting is amazing even in the english dub and the music kicks ass.

The movie was good in my opinon. But one thing that did bother me was the voice acting(most of it was good).

I watched the TV show before I saw the movie so I really didnt like the voice of the Major in the movie especially compared to the TV shows voice actor.

The movie was made for manga fans who were familiar with the setting and characters.
It helps if you watch the SAC series first so you get familiar with the world and then you can actually get everything from the first movie.
But, remember the Movie and the SAC series are set in different timeliness even if they're set on the same universe.
