So does anyone go to those 'hacker spaces'? Places where people get together and work on projects, experiment, and such. If you have, are they good for getting stuff done, or a general waste of time?

Probably better off going to an open-source LAN, Computing LAN sort of thing, instead of looking for a 'hacker space' thing. I did see one in America which looked sick. Was like a week long and thousands of people working on open-source projects whilst there.

What about Meetup.com? Seems like there are people encouraging others to come by and work on stuff. Never been to one, myself.

I go to the local hackspace. It's pretty cool, lots of semi-knowledgable people and useful resources. You should check it out at least, you may find it's not for you, but you'll probably like it.

I imagine they are all different.
