I have a encrypted version of a file and the unencrypted version of the same file, is there any way to figure out the encryption?

read the headers? look for obvious rar/zip/7zip indicators? look for patterns in compression or encryption? there's a million different things

General Answer : Not really.
Complicated Answer : You could try a mountain of ways to go about attacking it, but if you don't know how it was encrypted your better off not trying at all.

On an aside - This is not the correct board for this shit. Post in Technology in Either /Apple/ /Linux or /General Tech/ Hacking.. this doesn't qualify as.

Encryption doesn't work as such, unfortunately :c
AES standard encryption is practically unbreakable, like the Rijandael algorithm :c

If you are going to crack it, try going to find CERN ;)
