Since the 'The Thing' prequel is coming out soon, I thought I'd put this up. It's 'Who Goes There?' the book that spawned the franchise. Haven't read much, but you can tell that at least one guy is going to make it through the story because a whole paragraph is devoted to how tall and tan the dude is. The author was in love with the word 'bronze'. MacCready's hands were bronze, his face was bronze, his bronze was bronze, bronze bronze bronze baarleiuagjaldfjasdlfkjalsdkjtht!

Dude, we get it. He was tan. We understand.

Anyway, if anyone's read it, post a review.

I'm not sure what's going on with the board, but I can't embed post an image file and it won't let me post without one. Since this is too good to forget about, I'm replying to a random thread to get this up:

Ladies and Jellyspoons, I give you Nanocthulhu lovecrafti, a wasp recently named after H.P. Lovecraft

See here: http://infocult.typepad.com/infocult/2012/05/the-lovecraft-bug.html

No overbearing reason is given as to why they named this particular wasp the way they did. Presumably there's an underwater city somewhere that houses a lot of them.

Since images aren't being allowed on this board, here's a link to the insect:
