Christopher Nolan is too smart to leave Catwoman with a cheesy costume. Something else is going on, or there's a really good explanation why she looks like that.

In the end, it's really going to be about Batman and Bane. From the trailers and teasers I gather Catwoman is some kind of agent that Bane contracted out to do some recon work for him before he arrived in Gotham.

Bane's voice is going to be dubbed over in post so that people can understand him, so I don't think anyone has to worry on that end. One site thought using Tom Hardy was a case of whitewashing, though. Bane in the comics is essentially South American, but in the film he's going to be European. I'm confident that Hardy's acting will be worth it, though.

The whole thing with Bane really irks me, mainly because they obviously had the script written with Ledger's Joker in mind, then when Heath popped his clogs they suddenly had to find another villain, and nothing really worked, so eventually they went with Bane.

I don't know, though.. The trailers make pretty clear that Catwoman is working for Bane in some capacity. I don't think that would happen with the Joker. Also, Nolan was pretty adamant about finishing the story arc started by the first two films. It makes sense to use Bane if the Christian Bale Batman is permanently removed from play, either by killing or by crippling.

What's funny about all of this is that my new year's resolution was to stop watching movies for the rest of the year. You know, take a break. Then all these great movies start coming out. I haven't seen any of them, but when Batman and Spiderman hit the screens I will be sorely tempted.

I wasn't addicted to films, but they were all starting to feel the same after a while. I wasn't really seeing anything that was affecting me as a movie-goer. When that happens, it's important to take a break.
