i'm new to this chan and i have a question for you... I have an acer aspire 5715Z, 1,86 duocore, 4gb ram, intel vid card, no idea if that matters, but hey, why not mention it... i've always been using windows and i want to try linux or unix or whatever, what is best acording to you guys? what should i pic?

Have look and a few clicks on what you find intresting, then download what you're intrested in (look for live in the description) and burn it. Most distos have an option to try it without and install (thats the live part) so make sure your computer boots the cd drive before the hd.

Ok, i have downloaded Mint and Lunar... only tested Mint so far, and it looks very good :D anyone has a version i have to try because it is very awesome or something?

Lunar and gentoo are shit. Mint is ok if you are uncomfortable without the training wheels. Debian by far is one of the best choices.
