Broke and wanna get drunk for really cheap? Here is a recipe!

Instructions
Things You'll Need:

* Small funnel
* 1 clean plastic milk jug
* 1 packet of yeast
* 2 cups white sugar
* 1 can juice concentrate (defrosted)
* Water
* 1 large balloon

1-Put the funnel into the opening of the milk jug.
2-Pour the yeast, sugar and fruit juice concentrate into the jug.
3-Put the lid on the jug and shake the mixture together.
4-Take off the lid and use the funnel to fill the milk jug with water.
5-Put the cap back on and slosh the mixture around while holding the cap down with one hand.
6-Take the cap off and stretch the balloon over the mouth of the jug.
7-Set the jug in a cool area for about three days. You will see the balloon fill with gas from the alcohol forming in the drink. The drink is ready when the balloon deflates.
8-Store the drink in the refrigerator.

PROTIP :
-The longer the drink sits, the more alcoholic it will become.
-Choose juices that are not acidic to make the best alcohol drinks. Strawberry or peach juice makes some of the best batches.

OP Here,

I am trying this recipe for the very first time and all seems to go according to plan. I would also mention that I put in for each 2 cups of sugar, a tbl spoon of yeast. I will wait 3 more days and give you the results when I am done.

Stay tuned

I sure hope your doing that with brewers yeast and not bread yeast

I tasted the alcohol. It's really not bad at all! Tastes a bit like those 0.5% coolers but with more alcohol. I am pleasantly surprised because I expected the taste to be far worst.

All in all, it is an effective recipe for really cheap for those hard financial times we see every now and then.

Cheers!

I do this shit all the time. Always use champagne yeast. You can get it at any beer and wine making shop for like a dollar a packet.

Did it. Shit was so cash.

You might want to try more sugar in the recipe if you use Champaigine yeast (it's specifically bred to live in higher concentrations of alcohol).

1. sanitize everything with a 1 tablespoon bleach/1 gallon water mix. Let sit for 15 min.
2. poke a few pin holes in the balloon to vent the Co2
3. Don't use juice that has malic acid or preservatives. It will kill the yeast.

Fucking idiot, buying a fifth of Velicoff for $5 is cheaper and less of a hassle than making that shit. and it gets you more fucked up.
>> No. 409
yeah. old guy here, agreeing with 406. you dont make that shit because its cheap, you make it cause alcohol is unavailable, like on navy ships, remote forward bases, prisons, etc. the cheapest fith of rot gut vodka at 5 bucks has 3 times the alcohol, costs less, and will give you less of a hang over.

Pruno. Oh wow. Classy

If female just get your ass down to a bar, if male try a gaybar. As an added bonus you might recieve a roofy. Just have to be sure a wingman is there to save your ass and take you home.

Enjoy.

I just did the math on that
thats 2 gallons of %40 (80 proof) alcohol for $15

the cheapest and easiest i've found has been the 'tall boys' of Tilt which is like 7.2 'shots' for $2~3

You won't get anywhere near 14% alcohol with bakers yeast though. You'd have to use turbo or champagne yeast from a brewstore.
Look into making your own beer if you want good booze for cheap. After the initial cost of the equipment you can pull of ~5gal. batches for less than $20.

Agreeing with this.

I can get cheap-ass red wine for 1€/L (even cheaper on sales at the end of the seasons, like 0.45€/1.5L), it doesn't taste like shit and is drinkable overall. If you mix it with hot tea and drink it slowly, you'll get shitfaced after two liters and don't need any preparation time or "equipment".

Stuff like that or even Kilju is only profitable in countries with insane alcohol taxes like Finland. And even there, the only people who drink this shit don't have the spare room, patience or money for vodka making equipment, so they just take the easiest option.
